Biotransformation of food waste into biogas and hydrogen fuel – A review

چکیده

The amount of waste generated globally is rising along with the growth population, including biological waste, which reaches billions tons every year. An enormous food (FW) produced throughout production chain, threatens human health and environment. Waste-to-biogas conversion, as a prime example waste-to-energy technology, offers simple approach to simultaneously address issue demand for renewable energy sources. Anaerobic digestion (AD) FW produces biofuel, bioenergy, fertilizers. In addition providing sustainable management alternative landfills, creation hydrogen through resource recovery material conversion processes can be used produce fuels. To taken seriously candidate manufacturing hydrogen, it must economically feasible, cutting costs option. This article reviews literature provides techno-economic analysis possibilities producing biogas fuel from several types FW. Additionally, recommendations improving waste-to-biogas technology are provided part comprehensive solution potential energy.
